Fargo is a cold blood drama that took place in cold, snowy Minnesota. It is a big pleasure to watch it with a warm cup of tea or coffee and cookies. Characters are super natural coupled with an amazing script and extraordinary acting. I think it is a nominee to be one of your all-time favorite film.
Is it really based on a true story? I wish it wasn’t however it seems so.
Can a day-to-day small problem grow, expand and result in a big tragedy? In this film, yes and in a logical order.
Story develops around Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy); he is a salesman in a car dealer and experiences financial difficulty. He decides to play a weird game to his father-in-law (Harve Presnell) who is rich and insults Jerry. He teams up with a few junkie to kidnap his own wife so that he can demand ransom for the father-in-law. However all goes totally wrong and out of control. Junkie team kills a few during his kidnap operation.
As the bodies are found outside of the Minnesota, close to border of Brainerd, Brainerd police chief Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) who is smart and pregnant. Mysteries and breath taking events continues till to the end of the story.
Normally most of us watched it years back however brand new Fargo tv series brought it to our attention again. It is same for me, after years I watched it again after finishing first season of new show.
I strongly recommend that you watch Fargo movie and then start enjoying tv series.
I will add my reviews for the series as well in my coming posts..
