Although The Revenant was shot in 2015 and lots of discussion had been made, I have recently watched it. It is one of the movies that you see limited number of people during 156 minutes and it is centered in a certain story. It reminded me The Hateful Eight (2015) which was very similar to The Revenant in terms story, lots of snow, revenge and lots of kills.
However The Revenant has very touching, extreme moments differently. Some scenes were very unusual and different; fight with the Grizzly bear was very high tension and it makes you heartbeat go real up. Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) resting in his dead horse’s body after emptying it was one other shocking scene. One thing I don’t like about these kind of movies is you cannot even recognize the cast due to their dirty beards and hair. I have almost struggled to recognize Tom Hardy as John Fitzgerald during the Revenant.
I felt sad about the end of Captain (Domhnall Gleeson) he was a decent guy however his was naive enough to leave Fitzgerald to guard Glass. Poor Hawk left us to early and Bridger (Will Poulter) was too young to be a soldier.
At the end Glass took his revenge however all the money of the company gone lost with Fitz and I have expected more respect from the lady who was saved by Glass earlier, at east they let him live, that is something to appreciate I think.
The Revenant was one of the top performances of Leonardo DiCaprio, I should give that.
In summary you would enjoy the Revenant if you like long cold dark blue dramas, if you ask me; give it a try.
